THE UNDERWRITER PROGRAM WAS SUCCESSFUL

Our 2007 operating expenses were generously covered by a group of underwriting donors - sort of like public radio. Users applauded this change that allowed all submittals to be free of charge. We are now accepting the first 25 contributors at the $50 or greater level to be an underwriting sponsor for 2008. Each will get a small graphic with a web link that rotates into the upper right corner of all LabraDataBase pages. Some of these underwriter links are already in place for you to view. We want to provide a lot of display time for each rotating sponsor, so we are only accepting 25 again for this year. Prior contributors will have first opportunity to renew their positions, but new underwriters are also needed to complete our budget needs. All submittals are FREE.

Submit your personal data, your dogs, your litters, documents you want stored and displayed - EVERYTHING - absolutely free of any charges or fees. This includes up to two photos of each dog and a text/html comments area to make the record a mini web page. Just select the "Submit Data" button from the LabraDataBase menu and enter as many dogs, litters or documents as you wish. If your dog is registered, we need a copy of the registration to assure accuracy. A scanned copy can be uploaded right from the submittal form or a photocopy can be mailed to the filemanager. If your dog is not registered (rescue or without papers), then you still can submit all the other important information to chronicle the life of your favorite Labrador.

What's the catch?

No catch or fine print - the only additional charges will be for more than 2 photos of a dog (just $1 each for extras). We want YOUR dogs - ALL of them - to make our database more robust and representative of the breed. The information you enter today may be important for researchers in a decade, so be sure your dog has the opportunity to make an impact on the future of the breed. It only takes a few minutes to start the process. Additional documents for title, certification or health records can be scanned and added once the dog is in the database - or you can just instruct us to use information already available from public sources (like AKC, OFA, CERF, etc.). As you add new data to your dog's record over time, the entire database becomes more useful and rich with details. Whether you use the service as a tool for making breeding choices, storing important documents safely, bragging on your favorite Lab or documenting unfortunate events, your dog's entire history will be preserved for the future.

In keeping with our original pledge to the users, there will never be a charge for accessing the LabraDataBase. Thanks to the Underwriter Program, there will also be no fee for making your Labradors - past and present - part of the living history of the breed.
