In November 2005, a small group of individuals
made the decision to create an International repository of information and
documents about Labrador Retrievers unlike any ever attempted before. This huge
project - created through individual donations of money, time and effort - has
developed into the LabraDataBase.
The comprehensive database utilizes advanced
technology and is directly available via a web-based application. That means
that anyone can view the entire, up-to-the-minute database from any Internet
connection in the world at any time. For those of you who are return visitors
to this website, you will notice ongoing changes - some even from one day to
the next. The format is designed to be user-friendly, but may require a bit of
browsing for first-time users to become accustomed to the placement of all the features.
While we
cannot provide instant modifications to information you submit on-line, our
Data Operators update the system frequently to keep it as correct and current
as possible. Our hope is that by seeing the amazing capabilities of this
system, you will be eager to not only participate, but to correct, update and
add information that is missing. Only with complete data can we provide the
information necessary for researchers to adequately study our wonderful
Labrador Retrievers and their genetic diseases.
